Google Cloud has expanded its strategic partnership with German software company SAP to drive accelerate business transformations in the cloud.
Together, the two corporations also plan to help customers migrate critical business systems to the cloud and augment existing systems with Google’s capabilities in artificial intelligence and machine learning.
Rob Enslin, president at Google Cloud, said: “Google Cloud and SAP share a commitment to supporting customer success and growth. We’re delighted to partner with SAP to accelerate business’ digital transformations with SAP on Google Cloud and with next-generation cloud capabilities.”
Additionally, Google will broaden the availability of SAP services on its cloud platform through the ‘RISE with SAP’ programme. SAP unveiled RISE in January as a holistic, “intelligent enterprise”, as-a-service subscription-based offering for business process transformation in the cloud and an important driver of SAP’s S/4HANA Cloud and adoption of SAP’s Business Technology Platform (BTP).
Enslin added: “Through support for RISE with SAP and in-depth integrations between SAP and Google Cloud, this new partnership will enable customers to seamlessly bring their most critical business systems and applications to a future-proof, secure, and low-latency environment and to run them sustainably, on the industry’s cleanest cloud.”
Several SAP offerings will be added to Google’s cloud platform globally. This includes the SAP BTP, a set of higher-end services to help build new applications to extend SAP. HANA Cloud, which currently is not available for Google customers, also will be added globally. Both are targeted for release in this year’s third or fourth quarter.
SAP Analytics Cloud and SAP Data Warehouse Cloud are expected to be available globally on Google Cloud in the second or third quarter of 2022.
Thomas Saueressig (pictured), member SAP SE’s executive board and responsible for SAP product engineering, said: “RISE with SAP has been adopted by customers who want to accelerate their journey toward becoming an Intelligent Enterprise. We are now expanding our partnership with Google Cloud to further customer success.
“Offering integration between SAP solutions, SAP BTP, and Google Cloud infrastructure and capabilities in artificial intelligence, machine learning, and analytics gives customers both the choice they desire as well as the innovative portfolio they seek to transform their businesses in the cloud.”
